Monroe DUI arrest

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 1:55 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 7, along SR196 in Coolbaugh Township.

Pocono Mountain Regional police were dispatched to Pocono Farms in Tobyhanna for a disturbance. While en route police were advised the suspect in the disturbance was leaving the scene in a silver in color pickup truck.

Police then observed the vehicle driving erratically and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Robert W. Weiss, 47, of Bartonsville. Weiss was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, police said.
