Wins top prize in column writing
Bruce Frassinelli of Schnecksville earned the top prize in column-writing in the annual Professional Journalists and Communicators of Oswego County (N.Y.) awards competition. This is the second year in a row that he has won first place in this category.
Frassinelli was cited for his column in Oswego County Business Magazine on ``Newspapers: What Happened to the Wall Between Advertising and Editorial?"
A 1957 graduate of Summit Hill High School, Frassinelli retired as publisher and editor of The Palladium-Times, a daily newspaper in Oswego, in 1998. He has been a senior columnist for the business magazine and a companion publication, 55 Plus, since 2002.
He also is a contributor to the Patch publications in the Lehigh Valley and is an adjunct instructor at Lehigh Carbon Community College. He also is an occasional guest contributor to The Times News.
The presentation was made at the group's annual awards dinner on Thursday, Dec. 9.
