Monroe teen facing charges

A Monroe County teen is facing multiple charges of burglary and theft.

State police at Lehighton said Zekiah Ben Harsch, 18, of Saylorsburg, was arrested overnight of Sunday, Dec. 12, and Monday. Troopers said Harsch was stopped by troopers from the Swiftwater barracks operating a stolen motor bike. He attempted to flee troopers but crashed the bike and was taken into custody.

He is charged with burglary, theft from vehicles and the theft of three motorcycles, one of which he was riding when caught. The incidents occurred in the area of Mt. Eaton Road in Ross Township.

Harsch has been charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, criminal trespass and criminal mischief. Further arrests may occur as new information develops, troopers said.
