Whitehead, Turner see action for Muhlenberg
A pair of area players saw action for the Muhlenberg College football team this season.
Senior Corry Whitehead of Lehighton and junior Brandon Turner of Tamaqua were part of the Mules team that capture the 2010 Centennial Conference championship.
Whitehead played in three games as the Mules' kicker, including one start in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. He registered the first point of his career against Juniata and finished the year going a perfect 3-for-3 on extra points.
Turner played in one game along the line for a Mule defense that finished in the top five in the conference in every major statistical category.
Muhlenberg finished the season 7-4, including a 7-2 mark in conference play, to clinch its record-tying ninth Centennial Conference title. The Mules then advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time in the past 10 years.
