Identity theft incident in Lehigh

Dennis Newman of Macungie is a victim of identity theft involving his Macy's account, according to state police at the Fogelsville barracks.

Police said someone purchased merchandise at the Macy's store in Brooklyn, N.Y., using Newman's account. It is unknown at this time what was purchased and the amount of the purchase. Police said a person also attempted to open a Target account in the victim's name, although the attempt was unsuccessful.

The incident were reported to police on Dec. 6.
