Copper wire stolen at 2 Schuylkill sites
The Reading Anthracite Company was the victim of two theft incidents at different locations in Schuylkill County between afternoon hours of Dec. 22 and the morning hours of Dec. 23, state police at the Frackville barracks said.
Police said the company's St. Nick's Coal Breaker in New Castle Township was the scene of one theft after someone stole about 700 feet of copper wire and copper banding from the property.
The other theft happened at property owned by the company in Foster Township after someone took about 650 feet of 1 wire and two 30-amp, 240-volt plugs.
