Published December 28. 2010 05:00PM

A 1990 Dodge Daytona caught fire and sustained disabling damages after a one-vehicle crash at 8:10 p.m. Dec. 23 along Wade Road in Norweigan Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said Michael A. Zarillo, 22, of Sugarloaf, was driving the vehicle westbound when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection with Peach Mountain Road. The vehicle proceeded through the intersection in a westward direction, traveled into a wooded area and came to rest on top of a mound of dirt and brush. Police said the operator smelled something burning, after which the car began to fill with smoke and then caught fire.

Police said Zarillo will be cited as a result of the crash. He was uninjured.
