Minersville man held on warrant

Philip Koles, 30, of Minersville, who was stopped by state police at the Frackville barracks on Dec. 24 at 11:11 a.m. for a traffic violation, was later committed to the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, after police learned there was an outstanding bench warrant out for his arrest.

Police said he was stopped on Interstate 81 in West Mahanoy Township, after which time is was learned Koles was wanted in Elk County for failure to appear for court.

He is being held at the Elk County Sheriff's Office and is awaiting to be extradited there to face the court charges.
