State police at the Fern Ridge barracks investigated a one-vehicle accident Dec. 26 at 5:45 p.m. on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.

Police did not reveal the name of the driver, but said a 2005 Mitsubishi Montero was traveling east when the operator lost control of the vehicle because he was driving too fast for the snowy conditions.

The vehicle traveled onto the south side of the roadway and struck a tree with its left rear end.

Police said the driver will be cited.
