15-year-old leaves home in Monroe

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks were summoned to Monroe County on Dec. 29 at 8:45 p.m. after a 15-year-old boy was reported to be missing or having ran away from home.

Police said the boy, who was not identified, left the residence at 41 Overlook Terrace, Effort, Chestnuthill Township, without the knowledge of his guardian.

Police described him as being a white male, about six feet tall and weighing around 155 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie with a design across the front, blue jeans and black and white Converse sneakers.

Police believe the boy may have been headed toward the Mahanoy City area. Anyone with infomation about the boy is asked to contact police at 570-646-2271.
