Police probe hit-run, DUI accident

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks responded to a hit-and-run accident on Dec, 31 at 1:15 a.m., later arresting a man for driving under the influence of drugs.

Police said they were notified that a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck was parked on the north shoulder of State Route 895 in South Manheim Township, and upon arrival learned the vehicle had been involved in an accident. Police went to the home of the person to whom the vehicle was registered and determined the owner, Daniel K. Hosler, 28, no address given, was the operator of the vehicle. Police said he appeared to be under the influence of marijuana. Various items of paraphernalia were seized from Hosler's apartment, police said.

Police said he refused a chemical analysis test and was released to a relative.
