Birthday celeb
Joseph Kamant of Tamaqua celebrated his 70 birthday on Jan. 11. He is the husband of the late Janet (Sherry) Kamant and is retired from the Ford Motor Company of New Jersey.
A graduate of Marian Catholic High School, Hometown, Kamant is the father of three daughters: Janelle, wife of Nicholas Digiglio of Nesquehoning; Claudene, wife of michael Oswald of New Ringgold; and the late JoLynn Kamant of Tamaqua. He has five grandchildren: Nich Digiglio of Philadelphia and his fiancee, Shanon Ewig; Jillian Digiglio of Nesquehoning; Allicia Oswald and her companion, Arlin Greene, and Matt Oswald and his fiancee, Heather Hill, all of New Ringgold; and Joseph Kamant of Tamaqua. he also has two great grandchildren: Jacob Digiglio of Altoona and Parker Oswald of New Ringgold.
A surprise dinner party was held Jan. 23, at the Lansford AMVETS, where the birthday celebrant was honored by his family and friends.
Class of 2010
The Decorating Committee for the Parents of the Tamaqua Class of 2010 meets every Monday, at 7 p.m., on the third floor of the Tamaqua Elks, 301 W. Broad St. Members continue working on decorations for the annual All Night Party.
Class of 2011
The Tamaqua Class of 2011 will meet Feb. 2, at 7 p.m., in the senior high school library. Parents of all class members are welcome to attend.
