CBS News piece on Koch's Turkey Farm postponed

Published February 04. 2010 05:00PM

The CBS Evening News feature segment that includes mention of Koch's Turkey Farm, Lewistown Valley, has been postponed once again.

The Walker Township farm was visited by Katie Couric last month as part of a two-part segment titled "Antibiotics and Our Foods". Koch's was chosen because its turkeys are raised without the use of antibiotics. Couric interviewed Duane Koch, vice president of the farm, for the second part of the series.

The two-part segment was to have aired last month but was postponed due to coverage of the earthquake in Haiti. Barbara Koch, sales manager for the farm, said it had been rescheduled to air this week.

On Wednesday, Barbara Koch received word that the series was being postponed and rescheduled again for next week.

"Because part 1 of the series is particularly complex, everyone wants to make sure we have it 100 percent right. I'm sorry for this - I know a lot of plans were built around it. We're now running it on Tuesday and Wednesday - Feb. 9 and10," was the message sent to Koch's by the producer of the segment.

Koch's is now expected to be featured on the Feb. 10 segment.

Barbara Koch apologized for the delay but mentioned the CBS News schedule is subject to change on a weekly basis.
