Bowmanstown Transfer Station proposal is topic at Palmerton Area Democratic Club meeting

The topic for the Palmerton Area Democratic Club on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. will be the Bowmanstown Transfer Station Proposal.

William Ravert, President of the Bowmanstown Borough Council will be the featured guest speaker and will answer questions about the controversial Transfer Station proposed for the old Prince Paint site in Bowmanstown.

Upcoming Meet the Candidates Nights of the Palmerton Area Democratic Club:

*Tuesday, March 9, 7 p.m.-From the Federal Campaigns, representatives from the offices of Senator Arlen Specter and challenger Congressman Joe Sestak as well as representatives from the 11th Congressional District race from Congressman Paul Kanjorski and challenger Corey O'Brien.

*Tuesday, April 13, 7 p.m.-Candidates from Pennsylvania state and local races will be invited to introduce themselves.

The area covered by the Club includes Palmerton, Bowmanstown, Towamensing Township and Lower Towamensing Township. Meetings are monthly, the second Tuesday of the month, September to May, 7 p.m. at the Fireline Hotel, Bowmanstown. Newcomers are welcome.
