Hit and run probed in Monroe

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a crash on Friday, Feb. 5, along SR209 in Polk Township, Monroe County.

Trooeprs said Tammy A. Kemmerer, 40, of Lehighton, was northbound in a 2005 Chevrolet Aveo at 1:37 p.m was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Polk Township Road.

Troopers said the other vehicle it traveled through the stop sign and struck the left rear of Kemmerer's vehicle, spinning it out of control.

It came to rest in the drainage area located north of the intersection. The other operator fled the scene.

Kemmerer was wearing a seat belt and was uninjured. Her vehicle was towed by Borger's Towing.

No other details of the vehicle that left the scene are available at this time.
