The Kiwanis Club of Carbon County received its charter at a dinner meeting held in the Mahoning Valley Country Club. About 180 people were in attendance. The charter was presented to James V. Macalush Jr. of Lake Harmony, president of the Carbon Kiwanis Club, by Edward F. Brent of Williamsport, Kiwanis Pennsylvania district governor. William C. E. Arner of Lehighton, club vice president, received gifts of regalia from the Allentown chapter.
