Summit Hill native earns degree in clinical sexology
A Summit Hill native now living in Miami, Fla., recently received his doctoral degree from the American Academy of Clinical Sexology, Orlando, Fla.
Dr. Craig Hugh Vrablic, son of Robert and Mary Vrablic of Summit Hill, received the degree on Jan. 9.
Previously, he earned his master of science in nursing degree from Florida International University, Miami, after having completed his undergraduate work at the University of Miami.
The 1977 graduate of Panther Valley High School is an advanced registered nurse practitioner, board certified in family psychiatric and mental health. He is also a diplomate of the American Board of Sexology and a board certified sex therapist.
He is a member of the Honor Society of Nursing, National Scholars Honor Society, American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the Neuroscience Education Institute.
Dr. Vrablic has been involved in the health care field since 1978. Prior to working in mental health, he entered the field of respiratory therapy, where he had the opportunity to create a strong foundation of critical thinking and precise diagnostic skills.
As a registered respiratory therapist and perinatal pediatric respiratory care specialist, Dr. Vrablic's area of expertise was in critical care, high risk newborns and trauma.
A graduate of Northwestern University, Chicago, Ill., he demonstrated highly-developed ability to quickly assess complex clinical scenarios and implement immediate live-saving interventions.
His practice is devoted to the adolescent, adult and elderly populations. With a sharp intuitive sense, he masterly blends the theoretical client-centered approach with rationale emotive therapy, building on the clients' strengths and integrating harm reduction, incorporating appropriate psychopharmacology when necessary, to achieve optimal mental health and function.
He has over 17 years of experience in the field of psychiatry and addictions.
