Man arrested in store parking lot

A Monroe County man has been arrested following an incident in the parking lot of an area store.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers received a report of an intoxicated male in the parking lot of the Walmart store in Mt. Pocono about 1:33 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7. Upon arrival officers found William Sherick, of Long Pond. Sherick was attempting to change a tire on his vehicle. He was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody because he posed a danger to himself and others.

Sherick was taken to the county prison in Snydersville and was charged with public drunkenness, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
