Assault incidents probed by troopers
State police at Fern Ridge reported on several incidents of assault.
On Saturday, Feb. 13, about 1:30 a.m. troopers responded to an incident at 2509 Vista Drive, Blakeslee, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Upon arrival troopers were told a physical altercation occurred between Aljamid Brown, 37, and Nigel Albert, 49, of that address. During the altercation Brown allegedly threw rubbing alcohol in Albert's eyes and eventually cut him on his shoulder with a small pair of scissors.
Brown was taken into custody and charged with simple assault. Troopers said Albert is facing a charge of harassment for his part in the incident.
Troopers said on Feb. 5 about 10 p.m. they responded to a fight between brothers at 14 Wooded Acres Drive, in Stroudsburg, Jackson Township, Monroe County. Troopers said brothers Christopher John Sklanka and Jeremy Joseph Sklanka got into a fight because one throught the other had harmed their mother. Christopher received a bloody nose and Jeremy was sturck with a rebar and received a small stab mark on his back and a bruise to the side. Both were charged with simple assault.
Troopers reported on incident on Feb. 6 and 7, between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. along Strausser Lane, in Jackson Township. Troopers said James Dean Woodling, of Stroudsburg, allegedly put his hand around the neck and held Lacey Cherepko, of East Stroudsburg, to the ground. He also cut her hair with a large knife. He was charged with simple assault.
