On this date

The Spanish War Veterans of Summit Hill staged an appropriate patriotic program at their headquarters this evening in observance of the anniversary of the sinking of the Maine in Havana Harbor. Sinking of the Main on February 15, 1898, brought about the armed conflict between the United States and Spain, which in turn permitted the liberation of Cuba. The speaker at the program was Judge William G. Thomas.
