Pocono Parkinsons

The Pocono Parkinson's Support Group will meet at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 17, at the Loder Senior Center in East Stroudsburg.

Rotary Club

The West End Rotary Club will host Ross the Mentalist at its Feb. 18 breakfast meeting.

The meeting begins at 7:30 a.m. and is held at the Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville.

Youth worship service

In addition to the regular Saturday evening service being offered at Effort UMC, the Youth will lead a worship service at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 20. The public is welcome.

West End Little League

The West End Little League is in great need of volunteers for all positions in the league.

Night of Unity

Pleasant Valley School District will host its annual Night of Unity, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 24, at the high school in Brodheadsville. Many activities and groups will showcase their heritage and activities.

The snow date is March 4.

Contemporary service

St. Peter's UMC in Saylorsburg has instituted an early service, beginning at 8 a.m., Sunday mornings, in addition to its regularly scheduled Sunday School at 9 a.m. and worship service at 10 a.m.

That service will feature primarily contemporary and praise music. Assisting with that will be Nate Morris, cousin of the church's new Youth Pastor, Tommy Morris III, a Pleasant Valley graduate.

The new pastor has taken various courses at Columbia International University in South Carolina and has been involved in Youth for Christ, The Barn, and Jubilant Jugglers for Jesus.

Round and round

The Chestnuthill School families have roller skating on the calendar for 4 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 20.

Chem-Free meets

The next Pleasant Valley Chemical Free Graduation Party committee meeting is at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, at state Sen. Browne's office.

Busy Lions

Due to it being Ash Wednesday on its regular meeting night, the Western Pocono Lions will next meet on Thursday, Feb. 25, at The Hamilton in Saylorsburg. The speaker will be Joanne Kochanski, talking about the Red Cross blood drive the club is sponsoring at the American Legion in Gilbert on Thursday, March 18, from 2-6 p.m.

The club will sponsor a jewelry night to be held at The Hamilton on Friday, April 9 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Social time at the meetings is from 6:30 to 7 p.m., with dinner being served at 7 p.m. Reservations should be made by calling Bob Argot at (570) 629-5718.
