JT, Marian, NL boys in action tonight

Jim Thorpe took the long route, while Marian took the short route to the Schuylkill League Boys playoffs.

Northern Lehigh, by winning the Northern Division Championship, finds itself as the No. 32 seed in the Colonial League Boys playoffs.

All three teams find them themselves in semifinal matchups tonight, hoping to reach championships on Friday.

Here's a breakdown of the Schuylkill League and Colonial League matchups:

COLONIAL LEAGUE

Semifinals at Catasauqua

6 p.m.

No. 3 No. Lehigh (17-5)

vs. No. 2 Wilson (15-7)

The Bulldogs should feel confident coming in to this matchup since they hammered the Warriors 57-26 back on January 19 in their only meeting ... Bulldogs are no stranger to the Colonial League playoffs making their fourth appearance in the past seven years, while the Warriors have made it for the second straight year ... Northern Lehigh won the championships in 2007 and 2008 ... Jordan Waylen is averaging 15.5 points a game, Nick Pappas is averaging 13.2 and Evan Biegley is averaging 11.9 to lead the Bulldogs in scoring ... Bulldogs last loss was to Southern Lehigh back on Jan. 22 by score of 56-55 ... Warriors were the Southern Division champs ... Wilson went on a five-game win streak after loss to Bulldogs, but Warriors have faltered down the stretch losing two of their last three games ... Warriors rely on defense and don't put up much offensively with Drew Parr the only starter averaging double figures (10 points a game).

No. 4 Southern Lehigh (12-10)

vs. No. 1 Notre Dame (19-3)

The Crusaders have defeated the Spartans twice this season (80-62 at home back in December and 81-66 on February 2 at Solehi ... Spartans have had Notre Dame's number in the league playoffs, however, beating the Crusaders in the semifinals the last two years ... Crusaders have won 13 of last 14 games with only loss during that stretch coming to Pius X ... ND's leading scorers are Joey Giangiobbe (14.4), Andrew Kohler (11.0) and Adam Ambielle (10.2) ... Spartans' Ramfris Rodriguez is averaging 15.9 p.p.g. and led Crusaders in scoring in both games against Solehi ... Justin Festa is other double figure scorer averaging 12.2.

FINAL: Winners will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Freedom High School for championship

SCHUYLKILL LEAGUE

Semifinals at Martz Hall, Pottsville

6 p.m.

Jim Thorpe (16-6)

vs. Marian (18-4)

Olympians defeated Colts twice this season winning in Panther Valley Tip-Off Tournament by a score of 54-49 and then beating them a couple of week sback by a 57-45 score ... Thorpe wound up playing three games in three days and to try and win one to make the playoffs and finally accomplished the feat on Monday by beating Jim Thorpe ... Olympians are led by Rashid Epps (17.4 p.p.g.), Sam Lux (13.5) and Corey Cinicola (12.3) ... Colts' Matt Yaich is averaging 13.6 p.p.g., while Drew Sherkness has a 10.4 average and Chris Barletta 10.2 ... Colts have won 13 of last 14 games with lone loss coming to Thorpe.

7:30 p.m.

Williams Valley (15-6)

]vs. Pottsville (18-4)

Crimson Tide has won nine of their last 11 games, losing to Pottsville on Monday 52-40 in a game the Green Hornets needed to win to make the district playoffs ... Nick Schlitzer leads the Tide in scoring averagin 20.8 p.p.g., while Josh Whalen backs him up at 12.3 ... Teams didn't meet during reguar season ... Vikings are led by Tyler Herb with a 19.1 average.

FINAL: Winners will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Pottsville's Martz Hall for championship
