A Schuylkill County man was jailed for violating a protection from abuse (PFA) order.

State police at Frackville said Mark Schlaugh, of Zion Grove, was stopped for a traffic violation about 6:14 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16, in the area of 60 W. Market St., Sheppton, East Union Township. At the stop troopers learned Schlaugh's female passenger had obtained a PFA order against him in November 2009 and it was still active. The order stated Schlaugh was not to have any contact with the female passenger.

Schlaugh was taken into custody and arragined before District Judge Bernadette Nahas, of Frackville. He was committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post 10 percent of $10,000 bail.
