PV students collect food for pantries
Panther Valley School students from the elementary school and the high school held a dress down day bringing in a can of food or money for the cause. The food and money will be divided amongthe Nesquehoning, Summit Hill, and Lansford-Coaldale food pantries. The total amount of money collected was $675. Checks will be presented to each food pantry for $225. More than 900 cans of food were collected and will be divided. Coordinating the drive was Rick Morgans, a teacher at the high school. Food at the elementary school was stored and divided in Jacqui Morgans classroom giving the children an extra lesson in math. Helping with the arranging of the food are Cheyene Lee-kindergarten, Mackensey Evans-first grade, front row are Angel Stilitino-second grade, and Trisha Biddle-fifth grade. Tyler Baez-fourth grade and Aaron Miller-third grade are standing to the side.
