Young driver injured

State police at Frackville investigated a one- vehicle crash which occurred Saturday night along Tumbling Run Road in Blythe Township, Schuylkill County. Troopers said Kevin Stock, 18, of Pottsville, was driving a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta eastbound about 10:45 p.m., and was speeding when he lost control. The car traveled off the road on the south berm for about 75 feet before it struck a tree with the front end. After impact the car spun clockwise about five feet where it came to rest against the tree facing south. Stock was extricated from the wreckage by rescue personnel and flown by medevac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for treatment of injuries. Damages to the vehicle were extensive, troopers said. Troopers added that Stock will be cited.
