100 years

Boy Scouts of America is celebrating Scouting's 100th anniversary, as of Feb. 8. As such, many Boy Scouts were involved in local churches this past weekend for Scout Sunday.

Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 98, Steve Rhoads, and his son, Nathaniel, a member of Troop 98, helped with the Saturday service at Effort UMC.

The elder Rhoads served as lector and joined his son in leading the Scoutmaster's Benediction, before the service was concluded by the guest preacher, the Rev. Robert Argot Sr.

During the Sunday services, other Scouts participated. The altar flowers were presented at Effort UMC, which hosts Pack, Troop and Crew 99, by those three groups.

In addition, nine individuals were officially received into church membership
