A newly opened real estate business could potentially become a real diamond in the rough.

Located at 236 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, Diamond 1st Realty is owned by real estate agent Cass Chies.

Chies, who has worked in the field for seven years, said she felt the time was right for her to branch out on her own.

"It was time that I needed to come full circle and go after the market the way I see it," Chies said. "I wanted to go after that niche market."

Chies said she chose the name for her business because just how each diamond is unique, each real estate transaction comes with its own individual characteristics, and must be handled differently.

"I will be able to put you first, spending the time necessary to successfully negotiate, guide and complete your purchase or sale," she said. "My new business is a renewed commitment to making your special transaction as smooth and easy as it possibly can be."

Chies, who said she still has room for two more agents, said she couldn't have picked a better time in her life to make the move.

"Everything just fell into place beautifully," she said. "It was because of the people who believed in me; I could not have done this without them."

Chies said each transaction is unique, and, therefore, deserves to be treated in its own way.

"It's about catering to these people," she said. "I give them choices, and work with them to get to their goal."

Over the past several years, Chies has obtained her broker's license, earned certifications from the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI), Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR.) and Accredited Seller Representative (ASR) status.

"These professional designations afford me in-depth knowledge about the complexities of buying and selling, and will help me be your best asset in whatever type of real estate activity you may want to pursue," she said.

Chies said she hopes her clients will continue to acknowledge her "love of service and dedication to making every real estate transaction positive."

"I value your trust and confidence in me, and hope that you will call on me with any real estate need, and will refer me to others as I continue to guarantee my personal attention to your goal," she said. "It is through your referral of family and friends that I continue to grow my business; it is the greatest compliment you can offer."

Chies is joined by agents Joe Henry and Tim Andrew.

Henry said Chies has played a central role in his career.

"Cass is the reason why I'm in this business," Henry said. "It was an easy decision for me; her ethics, the way she works is the way I want to treat my clients."

Andrew agreed, and said he's glad the business is up and running.

"I've always had a passion for real estate," Andrew said. "She's the reason I came in."

Chies extended a sincere thank you to her clients.

"Without you, I wouldn't be able to grow and develop my business as I have," Chies said. "You are also the reason I am able to make this exciting announcement as we start this new decade."

Chies referenced short sales and foreclosure designation.

Referred to as the new "traditional" real estate transaction, SFR is geared to help sellers maneuver the complexities of short sales, as well as help buyers pursue short sale and foreclosure opportunities.

Designed for real estate professionals at all experience levels, the National Association of REALTORS Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource certification offers a framework of sorts.

The one day Short Sales and Foreclosures courses available from REBAC and CRS are approved electives for the Accredited Buyer's Representative and Certified Residential Specialist designations, respectively.

Chies invited the public to attend a personal tour of her office and meet the agents. Or, they may visit www.Diamond1Realty.net.

She said a gala opening will be held in the spring. Call 610-900-4300 for more information.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Appointments may also be made after hours.
