Palmerton Concourse Club honors Guiding Stars

The Palmerton Concourse Club honored Madeline Koller as a Guiding Star.

She is the daughter of Lisa and Ronald Koller. Her hobbies and talents are horseback riding, baking, baby-sitting, tutoring and working with children. Her school activities include Leo Club, vice president; National Honor Society, treasurer; Environmental Club, treasurer; and vice president of the PAHS Class of 2010. Her community activities include Relay for Life and Palmerton Library's Summer Reading Program.

Koller will be attending a four-year college to attain a degree in biochemistry.

The Concourse Club of Palmerton will be honoring five Guiding Stars from the Palmerton Area School District. The Guiding Stars were chosen by a committee of teachers and staff from the school district. A Guiding Star must be a female student in the top 25 percent of the senior class who is actively involved in school activities and active in community activities. Each Guiding Star will receive a certificate and Guiding Star charm. One of the five Guiding Stars will receive a $500 scholarship in May.
