During installation of a new monitor box at the intersection of Lafayette and Swatara Street in Tamaqua, PP&L workers accidentally triggered sporadic alarms Wednesday afternoon via a wire leading from a nearby fire alarm box. Reportedly, a tool came in contact with the wire, triggering multiple fire whistles to be heard in Tamaqua for about 20 minutes.
