Crash kills man in Monroe

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a fatal crash which occurred Sunday morning along Glenwood Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. The crash was reported at 7:44 a.m. Troopers said a Mini Cooper was being operated eastbound, just north of Gilbert Road, when the driver lost control causing it to spin clockwise. The vehicle left the road and struck a tree at the driver's door. The victim, from Philadelphia, was pronounced dead at the scene by a Monroe coroner. He was partially ejected from the vehicle, troopers noted. His name was not released pending notification of the next of kin, troopers said. The scene is just west of the village of Effort.
