Monroe crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported on several automobile crashes investigated by troopers along Monroe County roadways.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 3:05 p.m. on Dec. 23 along a un-named road in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Gabriella Perretta, 18, of Effort, backed her 1994 Saturn SL2 into a parked Ford Expedition and then fled the scene. She was later located and cited for drivers required to be licensed.

A one vehicle crash was reported about 5:53 p.m. on Dec. 28 along Bartonsville Woods Road, in Jackson Township. Troopers said Damion S. Green, 23, of Effort, was driving a 2007 Mazda 61 and negotiating a left curve when his vehicle struck a large ice patch due to water run freezing. The vehicle went onto the berm and impacted with a tree. Green was not injured, troopers said.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 12:03 a.m. on Dec. 29 along SR715 in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Brittany Quinones, 18, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2000 Mazda Protege southbound when the car went onto the west berm and rolled over onto its roof. Damages were minor to the cdar and Quinones was not injured. She was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.

Troopers investigated another one vehicle crash about 8:11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 1, along Old Stage Road, in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Chad Cramer, 23, of Brodheadsville, was eastbound when he lost control of his 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier. The car went onto the berm and struck a tree.

Cramer was not injured but the car had to be towed from the scene.

Troopers reported on a crash that occurred about 7:45 a.m. on Friday along SR715 in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Samantha M. Pearch, 19, of Jacksonville, Fla., was driving a 1998 Ford Contour northbound and lost control while negotiating a left curve due to snow on the roadway. The car struck a utility pole along the berm with the passengers' side front fender area which caused it to overturn onto the passenger side.

Pearch had to be extricated from the vehicle and was then taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance, for treatment of injuries.

Troopers cited her for traveling at a (un) safe speed.

Two crashes were probed along Interstate 80 in Tunkhannock Township. The first occurred about 9 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 3, as Pradip Pesai, 48, of Guenee, Ill., was driving a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe westbound when he lost control. The vehicle went onto the berm and struck a guard rail. Pesai was not injured.

The second crash occurred about 11:15 a.m. Troopers said Tommy Williams, 30, of Woodbury, Conn., was eastbound in the right lane in a 2005 Interational tractor with trailer when Tina Marie Najera, 35, of Wilkes-Barre, driving a 2004 Suzuki Vatera, attempted to merged onto the interstate from Exit 284 ramp. Najera lost control and the front of the Vatera hit the passenger side of the rig.

No one was injured. The Vatera had to be towed from the scene.
