State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating a four-vehicle, rear-end type crash, about 7:14 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 4, on SR115, just east of Weir Lake Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said vehicles operated by Karen E. Gould, 51, Christopher P. Gearl, 33, and Sunshine L. Campen, 17, all of Effort, were stopped in traffic. A 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by Brittany N. Coiro, 17, of Effort, struck the rear of Campen's 1999 Ford Escort, pushing it into the rear of Gearl's 2988 Ford Bronco, which collided into the rear of Gould's 2001 Nissan Xterra.

No one was injured. Damages were termed major to the front end of the Grand Prix and front and rear of the Escort and minor to the other two vehicles.

Troopers cited Coiro for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.

Troopers also reported a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 1 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 3, along Evergreen Hollow Road, in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Brandon A. Barbuto, of Effort, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Lumina, eastbound when he veered off the road and struck a small tree along the berm. The vehicle then rolled over onto its roof.

Barbuto was not injured. He was cited for careless driving, troopers said.
