Gretchen Gannon is the new face on Eldred's board of supervisors

Eldred Township welcomed a new face to the board of supervisors at the yearly organizational meeting held on Monday, Jan. 4. Gretchen Gannon Pettit has filled in the seat that was vacated by Ilene Eckhart.
Clair Borger was named as the new chairman of the board, Pettit as the new vice chairman and Sharon Solt as secretary/treasurer. Michael Kaspszyk remains the township solicitor and Jennifer Lax will remain as the administrative assistant.
The township's engineer is Hanover Engineering, Inc., specifically with Brian Kocher and Chad Peters. Russ Kresge is the alternate engineer.
Retaining their township positions are: Clair Borger, Roadmaster; Ellerslie Helm, Zoning Officer; Donna Frailey, Earned Income Tax Collector; Robert Dorshimer, Earned Income Tax Appeals Officer; Bruce Gower, UCC Joint Board of Appeals Committee Member; Gary Hoffman, Emergency Management Coordinator and Vacancy Board Chairman; Mark Green and Kimberly Michael, four-year-term Planning Commission Members; Dan Lyons, Planning Commission Solicitor; Bob Silfies, Sr., three-year-term Zoning Hearing Board Member; Joseph Cardello and William Solt, three-year-term of Alternate Zoning Hearing Board Members; Sharon Solt, Voting Delegate to State Convention and Open Records Officer; Kirk, Summa and Co. LLP, accountant.
The Sewage Enforcement Officer is Hanover Engineering, Inc. with Scott Brown, Jacob Schray, Janice Buskirk, Pamela Kemesey, Jeffrey Huff and Christopher Taylor and the Building Code Official (BOC) is Hanover Engineering's Marilyn Ludwig.
UCC Inspection will be third party inspectors.
The Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company is the volunteer fire company authorized to cover Eldred Township.
West End Ambulance is the primary preference for emergency ambulance covering Eldred.
The treasurer's bond will be $200,000 from Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America, from H.A. Thompson.
Depositories for the township funds are East Penn Bank and PLGIT.
Supervisor Solt said that there had been no wage increase for township employees except a Cost of Living for the last 20 years and sometimes nothing at all. She made a motion for a 3 percent raise for all employees. It was approved by all three supervisors.
Wages for township employees were not presented because they are subject to the auditor.
The mileage rate will be what is set by the IRS at $.50 a mile.
The bimonthly meetings will be held on the first and third Wednesdays .$at $. 7:30 p.m. at the Eldred Township Municipal Building in Kunkletown.
