Linda Marcincin named secretary of state principal's association
Dr. Linda W. Marcincin, principal of Slatington Elementary School, has been elected Secretary of the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals (PAESPP), headquartered in Summerdale, Pa.
The PAESSP's membership of approximately 4,000 is comprised of elementary, middle level and secondary school principals, assistant principals and other educational leaders, and is affiliated with the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
Dr. Marcincin previously served as an assistant principal at Northern Lehigh High for two years, and as an assistant principal at Northern Lehigh Middle School for eight years.
Dr. Marcincin has been a member of PAESSP for 15 years. She was appointed to the Secretary position in 2007.
Prior to her first term as Secretary, she served as the East II regional elementary representative to the PAESSP board of directors.
As a PAESSP regional representative, she organized principal meetings for the eastern regions. She has also served as a member of the PAESSP conference committee.
Dr. Marcincin has been a participant in the "Previewing the Principalship" workshop discussion panel, as well as a participant in a Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators' workshop discussion panel.
She has had an article published in the NAESP's Principal magazine.
Dr. Marcincin earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from Moravian College, and a master's of arts degree in English from New York University.
She received a certification as a reading specialist from Kutztown University, and holds a principal certification and superintendent's letter of eligibility from Lehigh University.
She received her doctorate from Nova Southeastern University.
