A Berks County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Hector M. Cabrera, 26, of Reading, was driving a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser northbound on SR61 in North Manheim Township about 5:50 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 10, at a high rate of speed. He swerved to the right crossing over the right lane and onto the shoulder hitting an embankment. The car then flipped over five times before coming to rest facing southeast on the shoulder.

Cabrera smelled of an alcoholic beverage and failed field sobriety tests. He was then taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center South, Pottsville, for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results. Cabrera was charged with driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.
