Schuylkill crashes
State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on several crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roadways recently.
A crash occurred on Saturday, Jan. 9, about 1:35 p.m. along Mahantango St., in Hubley Township. Troopers said Pamela R. Ney, 40, of Dornsife, Northumberland County, was northbound in a 2002 Chevorlet Silverado while Alicia L. Hamburger, 25, also of Dornsife, was southbound in a 1999 Toyota Camry. Troopers said Ney entered into the southbound lane and struck the Toyota with her Silverado. After impact Ney continued north coming to rest about 100 yards from the initial point of impact. After impact the Camry spun 45-degrees counter-clockwise and the rear end struck a utility pole along the berm.
No one was injured. Troopers cited Ney for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
A crash occurred about 7:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, along Keefer Road in Pine Grove. Troopers said Tanya M. Zagar, 29, of Pine Grove, was attempting to exit a private driveway and due to icy road conditions she could not stop and struck the front passenger side of a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Tayler S. Smith, 17, of Pine Grove, with the front of her 2001 Ford Excape.
Zagar, Smith and his pasasenger, Kaylin R. Ryan, 16, of Pine Grove, were all not injured.
Troopers investigated a hit and run accident reported about 2:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, along SR61 in North Manheim Township. Troopers said a vehicle was traveling northbound and veered onto the east berm and struck a utility pole. The pole was severed at its base. The driver then continued north fleeing the scene.
