Domestic assault leads to charges

A domestic assault incident has led to multiple charges being filed against a Monroe County man.

Pocono Mountain Regional police officers were dispatched to 1570 Blackbirch Way, in A Pocono Country Place, in Tobyhanna, on Sunday, Jan. 10, abouat 11:26 a.m. for a reported domestic assault. Upon arrival officers spoke with Shaquan Ambrose, 28, who had visible injuries to her face.

Police said it was determined that her husband, Derrel Ambrose, 32, threw a coffee mug at her which struck her in the face. After a brief struggle with officers, Derrel Ambrose was taken into custody and taken to police headquarters for processing.

He was charged with simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
