Monroe man facing several charges

A Monroe County man is facing several charges, including robbery, following an investigation by Pocono Mountain Regional police.

Police said Hector Guzman Lopez, 23, of Tobyhanna, has been charged with robbery, robbery of a motor vehicle, theft, unauthorized use of an automobile, burglary, criminal trespass, simple assault and harassment.

Police released the following details leading to the arrest.

On Jan. 5 a 20-year-old female came to police headquarters to report a theft of a motor vehicle that occurred on Dec. 12, 2009. Through an investigation police learned that a domestic assault had also occurred and that Lopez had taken the victim's car keys using force and then left and took her car.

Police also learned on Dec. 25, 2009, Lopez forced his way into the victim's residence and assaulted her. After an additional investigation police secured a warrant for Lopez's arrest.

On Jan. 7 Lopez appeared at police headquarters and was taken into custody.
