Computers, tree steps and gas grills listed in recalls

The following recalls were issued Jan. 4-7 by federal and state agencies:

Military Toys: Jide Trading Inc. is recalling military toy figures sold November 2008 - April 2009. The surface paint on the toy contains excessive levels of lead. The toy set is packaged on a blister card and includes a male military figure about four inches in height with various accessories. Consumers should contact Jide Trading,866-544-7822, www.jidetrading.com, for a full refund or replacement toy.

Computers: Acer America Corp. is recalling Acer Aspire notebook computers sold June - October 2009. An internal microphone wire under the palm rest can short circuit and overheat. This poses a potential burn hazard. The recalled notebook computer models are the Acer AS3410, AS3410T, AS3810T, AS3810TG, AS3810TZ and AS3810TZG. Consumers should contact Acer, 866-695-2237, www.acer.com, to determine if the notebook is affected and to receive a free repair.

Tree Steps: Primal Vantage Co. is recalling Ameristep plastic strap-on tree step sold in 2009. The plastic portion of the step can break, posing a fall hazard. The product is a plastic tree step that attaches to a tree via a nylon strap and a large metal buckle. Models 105 and 155 both have a 12/08 date code, which is stamped on the plastic portion of the step. Consumers should contact Primal Vantage, 866-972-6168, www.treestandcustomerservice.com, for details on how to obtain a full refund.

Gas Grills: Sagittarius Sporting Goods is recalling Master Forge five-burner gas grills sold at Lowe's September - November 2009. The flexible rubber hose on the LP gas tank can come into contact with burner box, causing the hose to melt and rupture when the grill is lit. This poses a fire and burn hazard. This recall involves Master Forge five-burner, stainless steel gas grills. The name "Master Forge" is on the grill hood. The model number L3218 is located on a label inside the left front door of the grill. Consumers should contact Sagittarius, 800-444-6742, to obtain a free repair kit.

Gas Cans: No-Spill LLC is recalling no-spill five-gallon gasoline cans sold August - November 2009. The gas containers can leak fuel at the black plastic collar where the spout connects to the can, posing fire and burn hazards. The five-gallon gas cans are made from heavy-duty red plastic and carry date codes AIP09202 through AIP09222. The date code is on the bottom of the can. Consumers should contact No-Spill, 877-928-0049, www.nospill.com, to receive a free replacement.
