Councilman John R. McGinley announced the time is now ripe to procure the services of a borough manager in Jim Thorpe, pointing out the service could be paid for out of the proposed wage tax levy. Indicating he was originally against the idea, the sixth ward solon told colleagues it may be possible for the borough to collect from $60,000 to $65,000 a year under the wage tax program. He said the main job of the borough manager would be to plan permanent street improvements.
