Northern Lehigh, Northwestern and Panther Valley all picked up wrestling victories to highlight Wednesday's scholastic sports schedule.

WRESTLING

Wilson-No. Lehigh

Northern Lehigh walked off the mats with a 58-15 Colonial League win over visiting Wilson.

Lucas Dise (130), Dylan Hofmann (145), Zach Fleming (160) and Kyle Greenawald (171) all posted pins for the Bulldogs. Craemer Hedash recorded some additional bonus points with a major decision at 152.

The Bulldogs improve to 5-1 in the CL, while the Warriors slip to 1-4.

So. Lehigh-Northwestern

Northwestern escaped with a 35-34 Colonial League victory over visiting Southern Lehigh.

Leading only by a mere six points, Joseph Walker (189) recorded a major decision to give the Tigers a more comfortable 35-25 lead entering the final two bouts.

When the Spartans' Kevin Cameron could only muster a 6-2 decision over the Tigers' David Tirpak (215), it secured the victory for Northwestern.

Eddie Faust (130), Brandon Miller (135) and Bobby Clymer (145) provided the Tigers with some additional bonus points with pins.

Northwestern jumps to 5-2 in the league, while Southern Lehigh falls to 2-3.

Saucon added five pins and two technical falls to the forfeits to up its league record to 5-1.

Chris Barletta paced the Colts with 12 points. Matt Yaich also hit double digits with 11 points, which included a perfect seven-for-seven performance from the foul line.

Sean O'Neil led the Royals with 10 points.

Pius X won the JV game, 60-51. Paul Martin led Marian with 19 points. Ryan Karnish and Ryan Nesgoda added 13 and 11 points.

Nazareth pulled away from Pleasant Valley for a 57-39 non-conference win.

After holding a slim 27-24 lead at half, the Blue Eagles busted the game open with a huge third quarter.

Chuck Dibilio sparked the Blue Eagles' second half surge by scoring 12 of his game-high 25 points.

The Bears' Pat Kregeloh and Nick Stanovick both finished with eight points.

Tamaqua defeated Panther Valley, 37-23.

For the Raiders, Jake Wenzel led the way with 13 points.

The Panthers were led by Ferryman who had eight points.

Tamaqua-Panther Vy.

Tamaqua rolled to a 60-5 victory over Panther Valley.

Brett Kosciolek (12 points), Tyler Skripko (11), and Trevor Skripko (9) led the Raiders.
