The Tamaqua Area School District recognized participants in the KidPrint program, in which Kindergarten students are fingerprinted each year by local police officers in order to produce a record of identification for those students. The Tamaqua Rotary Club defrays the cost of the program. Participants who were honored at the Rotary Club's breakfast on Jan. 13 included, from left, Rotary KidPrint volunteers Floyd Zimmerman and Kevin Bailey; Tamaqua Area Kindergarten teachers Diane Michalik, Jean Brennan, Lindsey Rascavage, Stephanie Malarkey and Carolyn Fisher; KidPrint officers Patrolman Michael Hobbs of the Tamaqua Police Department and Cpl. Duane Frederick of the Rush Township Police; and Steven Behr, Tamaqua Elementary Principal.
