Carbon driver facing DUI count

A Carbon County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI).

State police at Lehighton said Anthony T. Bernardo, 35, of Lansford, was stopped for a traffic violation about 1:25 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 18, along SR209 at Packerton Hollow Road, in Mahoning Township. He was found to be under the influence and was transported to the Palmerton Hospital for a blood test.

The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.
