Tamaqua accident
No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident in Tamaqua last Friday morning.
According to the accident report, Linda Novak, 59, of 1398 Valley Rd., Tamaqua, was operating a Toyota Camry west on Spruce Street and had stopped for a red light at the intersection with Hunter Street. When the light turned green Novak proceeded to make a left turn on to Hunter Street, into the path of an eastbound Pontiac Vibe, operated by Wayne Leibenguth, 46, of 109 Lombard St., Tamaqua.
Leibenguth applied his brakes but was unable to avoid impacting the rear passenger side of the Camry. The Vibe sustained moderate damage to the front bumper, hood and quarter panel, while the Camry had to be towed from the scene.
