Monroe crash

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a one-vehicle crash about 3:20 a.m. on Jan. 10, along Mountain View Drive, in Polk Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Javier J. Garcia, 35, of Palmerton, was driving a 2001 Volvo S60 westbound when he lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons. The car traveled northwest off the north shoulder. The passenger side front struck a utility pole then continued northwest with the front then hitting a mailbox.

The car then continued northwest about 250-yards, across the property at 547 Mountain View Drive, finally coming to rest about 150-feet from the road facing south.

Garcia and passengers Joselline Mir, 28, Abigail Vazquez, 8, and Isabella Miro, 7, all of Palmerton, were not injured.

Troopers said Garcia was cited for roadways laned for traffic.
