Girls softball
The Tamaqua Area Girls Softball League will hold registrations for the 2010 season on the following dates: Feb., 13, 9 a.m. until noon, at the Tamaqua Elementary School; Feb. 20, 1-3 p.m., at the Tamaqua Elks; Feb. 21, 1-3 p.m., at the Tamaqua Elks. Registration is open to all girls between the ages of 5-16, who reside within the Tamaqua Area School District.

Fifth grade parents
Parents of fifth-grade students in the Tamaqua Elementary School will meet Feb. 8, at 6 p.m., to discuss plans for the upcoming party. The meeting will be held in the school library.

St. John UCC
The Rev. Kevin Duffy-Guy will officiate at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday in St. John United Church of Christ. Nursery service is available. The service will be followed by a time of fellowship. The weekly service will be broadcast on radio station WLSH, 1410 AM, at 11:30 a.m. Sunday school classes meet at 11 a.m.
Also this Sunday, the annual Congregational meeting will begin at 11 a.m.
Activities for next week will include: Wednesday, choir rehearsal at 7:30 p.m.
Zion Lutheran
The Rev. Debra Ernst will officiate at the 8:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services this Sunday in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. The early service will include the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Sunday school classes will be held at 9:30 a.m.
Activities for next week will include: Wednesday, Make it Simple Discussion group meets at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.; Thursday, Senior Choir rehearsal at 7:30 p.m.
