Vehicle stop leads to drug charges

Pocono Mountain Regional police stopped a car along SR611 in Mt. Pocono, Monroe County, at 1:30 a.m. Jan. 20 for a faulty equipment violation.

Police could smell an odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed several ounce bags of marijuana along with ecstasy pills. Police located a loaded BB gun with the drug stash in the glove box.

Police arrested Alex Tirado III, 26, of Stroudsburg, and charged him with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
