Kidder police report drug arrests

Kidder Township police reported the arrest of two males on drug charges.

Police said Brett A. Degood, 30, and Benjamin M. Tatum, 28, both of Snow Ridge Village, Jack Frost, were arrested for possession and manufacture of marijuana. The arrests followed an investigation of an open door in a unit at Snow Ridge. Both men were remanded to the Carbon County prison in Nesquehoning, in lieu of $50,000 bail set by District Judge Joseph Homanko, of Weatherly.

Cpl. Bruce Berger and Officer David Mason made the arrests. The incident occurred on Jan. 20 about 6:41 p.m., police said.

Police also reported the arrest of Kristina Smickley, 22, of Gilbert, for harassment following an incident on Jan. 16 about 8:10 p.m. at the Galleria, in Split Rock. Officer Neil Yurchak is the arresting officer.

Police said they are investigating a reported break-in of two vending machines at the Holiday Inn Express, along SR940, which occurred overnight of Jan. 18. An undetermined amount of change was taken.

A theft of a wallet was reported on Jan. 18 from a room at the Willowbrook, Split Rock. The wallet contained an undetermined amount of money and credit cards.
