Hit and run driver is being sought

A hit and run driver is being sought in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred about 2 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, along Wilder St., in Cressona. Troopers said a vehicle was driven westbound when it passed the Cressona elementary school. The driver entered a left curve and was going too fast and lost control. The vehicle began to turn in a counter-clockwise direction and collided into a white wooden fence and metal school speed limit sign with the passenger sid.e After impact the driver backed up and fled the scene westbound.

Red paint was found on the fence. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 593-2000.
