Published January 26. 2010 05:00PM

Coaldale police have charged a Tamaqua area man with violating a protection from abuse (PFA) order.

Ronald Willard Goepfert, 28, of 36 Zehner Crossing Dr., allegedly left messages on the victim's answering machine while he was being held in Potter County Jail on Nov. 22, 23 and 24, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Coaldale Police Chief Tim Delaney.

Recordings of the messages were given to police by the victim's mother on Jan. 4.

At the time Goepfert was barred from contacting the victim by order of Schuylkill County Court Judge D. Michael Stine. The order is valid from Sept. 21, 2009, through Sept. 21, 2012.

Goepfert was arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer, Tamaqua, on Monday and bail was set at $10,000.
